sheep tales wool festival - Saturday Sept 7th alnmouth

Sheep Tales will be taking over Hindmarsh Hall in the beautiful seaside village of Alnmouth on September 7th from 10 am till 4 pm. As usual we'll have lots of woolly goodies for sale and craft demonstrations upstairs. The Sheep Tales shepherding heritage exhibition and refreshments will be available downstairs throughout the day. This is always a very popular event, we hope you can make it and we look forward to seeing you.

This year the following people are taking part:-

• Jon Booker of Natural Born Dyers will be selling high quality yarns and fibres, hand dyed by Jon with natural dyes which he extracts from plants. He will also be selling a range of hand turned wooden accessories for knitters and spinners, made mainly from British wood including locally harvested hardwoods
• Kate Embleton of B13 Yarns will be selling unique artisan yarns in a range of fibres in both natural and hand-dyed colours including very special angora yarns from her own Angora Rabbits..
• Alice Elsworth of Whistlebare will be selling her hand-dyed Mohair and wool yarns from her own Angora goats and Wensleydale sheep. She also has a range of exclusive, contemporary knitting and crochet patterns.
• Anna Turnbull of Biteabout Arts will be demonstrating wet felting and selling her brightly coloured hand felted hats, bags, scarves, vessels, corsages and a selection of her fantastic handmade baskets.​
• Val Dijkman Handwoven Textiles is a guest exhibitor this year. Val weaves scarves, cowls, cushion covers and tapestries and will be selling these as well as demonstrating tapestry weaving.
• The North Northumberland Spinners will be demonstrating how to spin wool yarn from fleece.
• Rainbow Yarns, a lovely little local yarn shop in Rothbury will be selling a wide range of yarns, patterns and needles.
• Laura Brittain is a felter and she makes colourful bags, cushions, rugs and tiny little baby bootees. She also sells the most beautifully scented moisturising bars, made by her husband.
• Jennie Howes of Skybluepink Designs will be selling her hand spun yarns & supercoil necklaces, spinning & felting fibres, knitting & crochet patterns & kits, buttons, handmade garments, accessories & homeware.
• Fine Fettle Fibres from Gallery 45 in Felton will be selling a range of natural fibre yarns, knitting needles, patterns and notions.​
• Eta Ingham Lawrie will be selling her beautiful knitted & crocheted garments, accessories, dolls and weaving kits. Eta mainly works with sheep's wool, which she hand dyes in an amazing range of colours, using both mineral and plant dyes. 
• Jane Jackson of Bright Seed Textiles will be selling her needle felted Harris Tweed "paintings" and a large range of prints and cards taken from her work featuring local landscapes, landmarks and wildlife.
