Helen is an award winning, qualified tutor and lecturer with a passion and love of textiles, stitch and mark making. She is currently exploring the landscape, wildlife, history and archaeology of Northumberland.  A wild, windswept land of empty beaches and stunning moorland, a land of hidden prehistoric rock art, hill forts, medieval battles and castles. The “Land of the Far Horizons” where vistas are simply stunning.

Helen’s practise explores several techniques of mark making on cloth, from stitch to natural weathering.  She utilises several types of fabrics including felts and wools and uses both hand and machine stitching.

Helen also teaches, lectures and writes on a freelance basis.
