Natural Born Dyers

Natural Born Dyers is a Newcastle-based yarn company which dyes high quality yarn and fibre, with a focus on British wool, using natural dyes in small batches. We also hand-turn a range of tools and accessoriesfor knitters and spinners, using predominantly British and recycled wood.

Run by ex-plant biologist Jon with assistance from his partner Claire the business was established in 2010. The use of natural dyes to produce high end yarns and fibre for the discerning wool crafter includes dyes from home-grown or locally harvested plants.

Jon and Claire also demonstrate a strong bias towards British wool, especially in their batts which include pure-breed and cross-breed fleece sourced from local suppliers.
