Jennie Howes creates beautiful hand spun yarns suitable for knitting, crocheting & weaving. Hand spun Supercoil necklaces; exclusively blended spinning and felting fibres; knitting & crochet patterns & kits; wooden buttons; bamboo knitting needles, crochet hooks; handmade garments, accessories & homeware. Workshops for spinning/knitting/crochet/dyeing etc., for groups and individuals.
Jennie's main passion is hand spun, hand dyed or natural coloured yarns from many and varied breeds of sheep, plus the occasional goat, camel or yak that comes her way. She also uses some plant fibres too, like nettle, corn starch, linen, bamboo and viscose. All are suitable for knitting, crocheting, weaving or any other wool craft you would normally use yarns for.
You can see Jennie for both taster sessions and more advanced workshops in most wool crafts - spinning, knitting, crocheting, dyeing etc., at her home in Coldingham. She is also happy to travel further afield to teach groups and organisations. Contact her for more details.
You can find Jennie at wool festivals and shows nationwide, more locally at the St Abbs Wool Festival in Eyemouth - April and November, the Border Union Show in Kelso in July, the Glendale Show in August and the Alnmouth Wool Festival in September
